Our Mission:
“To provide a well-balanced and challenging curriculum delivered by talented and enthusiastic teachers in a caring, Christian community.”
General Information:
St. Mary's Episcopal Day School was founded as the primary mission of St. Mary's Parish in 1953. Fr. Warren I. Densmore and a group of Episcopal parents saw the need for a church-affiliated scho9ol with a strong academic program. The Church and School moved from their original sight on Bay to Bay Boulevard to the present campus with a plan to expand the enrollment to its current capacity. The majority of students are drawn from the South Tampa area, but a number of families reside in outlying communities including Brandon, Lutz, and Carrollwood.
St. Mary's is recognized for providing strong academic preparation in a caring, Christian community. The School program is enhanced by a wide offering of enrichment opportunities including art, music, speech, computer instruction, and activities aimed at character development. Middle School students are offered the opportunity to participate in a number of interscholastic sports programs.
From its inception, St. Mary's Episcopal Day School has been guided by the goal of creating a strong educational foundation in each of its students. A track record of successful secondary school placements, positive community service, and high achievement among the school's alumni in some of our nation's top universities testifies to the realization of this goal. Graduates matriculate to a number of challenging secondary school programs in the greater Tampa area, including Berkeley Preparatory School, Tampa Preparatory School, Jesuit High School, Academy of the Holy Names School, and Plant High School.
